For the group of 20 girl students of Vikas Vidyalaya, each of whom has some level of speech or hearing disability, it was like a dream come true as they received their certificates for successfully completing the Beautician’s Course. This will now enable them to pursue a profession and become self-sufficient earning members of their families.

The girls had received sponsorship for their fees through SMILE, which reaches out to children with disability through its UNCHI UDAAN programme. And it was truly fitting that the Guest of Honour on the occasion, and the one who handed over the certificates was none other than the sponsor of the project, Ms Judy Colson, who was accompanied by Ms Nicky Reddy as well as Anaxiben and Smitaben from SMILE.
